DUBLIN, OHIO (February 11, 2021) - The co-founders of Seventh Son and Antiques on High today announced plans to open a new bar, brewery and taproom in downtown Dublin. “The Getaway Brewing Co.” (The Getaway) will occupy 3,900 SF of interior space with an additional 1,000 SF of exterior space that includes a greenhouse-style patio. The Getaway will be located at the northernmost portion of Bridge Park West at 104 N. High Street and is set to open in spring 2021.
Named after both the 1985 Dodge Get-A-Way camper van that lives downtown at Antiques on High, and a shared love of travel, adventure and the great drinks that go hand-in-hand, The Getaway will be the newest concept for Seventh Son and Antiques on High co-founders, partners and life-long friends, Collin Castore, Travis Spencer and Jen Burton. It will feature beers, wines and cocktails inspired by a decidedly easygoing and tropical vibe.
“We’re really looking forward to opening The Getaway at Bridge Park,” said Castore. “We wanted to connect with the fast-growing northern Columbus area that can’t always get to our downtown locations. We love being downtown, but we’re excited to offer this amazing option to our friends up north.”
The Getaway includes an expansive indoor bar with seating for 20 people, located in front of a custom-built 20-foot diorama of a road trip vacation scene. Large NanaWalls connect the space to a one-of-a-kind indoor/outdoor, all glass “greenhouse” patio on the north side of the building which overlooks Indian Run and the Scioto River. Another patio faces historic Dublin on the west side of the building, offering an additional outdoor option for visitors to enjoy.
“The Getaway is going to be an incredibly fun place for the entire community,” said Bob Hoying, principal at Crawford Hoying, the developer of Bridge Park. “Whether you want to drop in for a drink after work, hang out with friends on the weekend, or stop by on the way to dinner, The Getaway will offer an experience for everyone. It’s the perfect addition to the neighborhood.”
The Getaway was designed by Jenine Monks of Dune House Creative, who also served as the interior designer at both Antiques on High and Seventh Son. The design reiterates the vacation-like concept, with greenery, wood and textural components throughout. An adobe fireplace, white stucco and terrazzo materials finish out the experience.
“We wanted to create a place that was comfortable for everyone – a place where you can get away from it all,” said Castore. “From the drink options to the design, we’ve made sure to keep that notion in mind. We hope everyone enjoys it as much as we do.”
Although The Getaway won’t offer a dining menu, Castore says he’s working with nearby restaurants on quick carry-out options for a more seamless experience.
The Getaway is the latest establishment announced at Bridge Park, already home to North Market Bridge Park, VASO Rooftop Lounge, The Pearl, Urban Meyer’s Pint House, Cap City Fine Diner, Pins Mechanical Co., 16-Bit Bar & Arcade, Frank & Carl’s, Local Cantina, Condado, Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea, Fado Pub & Kitchen, REBoL and more.
