DUBLIN, OHIO (May 18, 2021) - Frank and Stacy Leary, residents of the City of Dublin for 32 years, announced today their plans to open a new breakfast, lunch and dinner establishment at Bridge Park. Kona Craft Kitchen (Kona) will be located in the newest block of development across from North Market Bridge Park at 6757 Longshore Street. Kona will not only provide an elevated breakfast establishment to the neighborhood - an often requested and much needed addition to the area - but will also offer visitors a slew of healthy and colorful lunch and dinner options.
Although Kona is a brand new restaurant concept, the Leary’s bring an extensive amount of experience to the table. Having spent their entire professional careers in the food, beverage and hospitality industries, they decided it was the right time to embark on this new adventure.
“We’ve always had a dream of opening and operating a restaurant on our own,” said Frank Leary. “After retiring, we traveled for six months looking for inspiration. With Kona, we are setting out to create an experience of our own cultivated from the experiences we’ve enjoyed most.”
Kona Craft Kitchen has been heavily influenced by the Leary’s travels to Hawaii. Kona’s name comes from the single-origin, 100% pure Kona coffee which will be offered all day at the restaurant. Baked goods and desserts will be made fresh daily by the in-house pastry chef. Savory and sweet pastries, sandwich buns and bread will be available for purchase at the cafe located at the entrance of the restaurant.
Kona’s menu will feature an assortment of local, high-quality ingredients. Breakfast items will include eggs, root vegetables, kimchi bowls, french toast and much more. Lunch will range from decadent foods such as the highly anticipated and instagrammable “Smashburger” to healthier options including salads with colorful watermelon radishes. Kona’s Executive Chef, Josh Kayser, will focus dinner fare on lighter seafood options including wild prawns and fresh sea bass.
“We’re excited to bring healthy and fresh selections to the dining experience,” said Stacy Leary. “All of our menu items will be made with the most wholesome and locally-sourced ingredients.”
In addition to the bright menu options, Kona will feature craft cocktails and an extensive draft beer program. Kona’s General Manager, Nick Pennino, is an award-winning mixologist who is curating an assortment of hand-crafted cocktails - from directional frozen ice to fresh-takes on curated classics, he’s got something for everyone.
The restaurant will offer two outdoor seating areas, an indoor and outdoor fire feature, a 12-seat bar and a private dining room. Construction will begin this summer with an anticipated opening in fall of this year.
“From the fresh ingredients to the beautifully designed space - Kona will be a great addition to this community,” said Brent Crawford, principal at Crawford Hoying, owner and developer of Bridge Park.
Kona Craft Kitchen is the latest establishment announced at Bridge Park, which is already home to North Market Bridge Park, VASO Rooftop Lounge, The Pearl, Urban Meyer’s Pint House, Cap City Fine Diner, Pins Mechanical Co., 16-Bit Bar & Arcade, Frank & Carl’s, Local Cantina, Condado, Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea, Fado Pub & Kitchen, REBoL and more.
